Manufactured Proppant | Frac Sand | SphericalSonoAsh

Hydraulic fracturing, often referred to as fracking, is a well stimulation technique that entails fracturing bedrock formations through the use of a pressurized liquid. This process involves the high-pressure injection of "fracking fluid" - primarily water mixed with sand or other proppants utilizing thickening agents - into a wellbore to create fissures in deep-rock formations. These fissures enable the easier flow of natural gas, petroleum, and brine. When the hydraulic pressure is relieved from the well, small grains of hydraulic fracturing proppants (either sand or aluminum oxide) maintain the fractures by keeping them open.

One critical aspect of a proppant is the uniformity of its particle size. Currently, proppant sand used in the industry is a blend of various types. This coarse sand does not allow oil to flow freely through the fissures.

In addition to our green cement product, the SonoAsh process can produce an engineered, uniform particle size, high-value proppant that the oil and gas industry can utilize. This output is an engineered product that is ideally suited to keeping fissures open for longer durations and has a higher compressive strength compared to traditional sand.
